Heathrow drop-off charge: payment rules & terminal handover

A chauffeur receiving car keys from a traveller outside a terminal at dusk

The short answer: every car that drops off at a Heathrow terminal forecourt pays a per-entry charge, recorded by number-plate cameras. You pay it online or by phone, by midnight the day after your visit. If you don't, a penalty charge notice is sent to the registered keeper. Check the current rate on Heathrow's official website before you travel.

How to pay the charge

  • Pay online on Heathrow's official site, or set up autopay so it's taken automatically.
  • The deadline is midnight the day after you drop off.
  • Each entry is charged separately — dropping off and coming back counts twice.

What if I forget?

A penalty charge notice goes to the registered keeper of the car. It's a common and avoidable stress the morning after a flight.

Watch out for hidden extras

Some parking providers advertise a low price, then ask you to pay the drop-off charge or short-stay car park fees yourself on the day. Always check what's included before you book.

How a Mangro handover works

We meet you at the designated meet & greet area for Terminals 2, 3, 4 or 5 — the exact spot is in your booking email. We record your car's condition and mileage with you, then you head straight to Departures. On return, your car is waiting at the same area.

No extra charges at the airport. Ever.

Once you book with us, there's nothing else to pay at Heathrow — no drop-off charge, no short-stay fee, no barrier ticket. Some providers advertise a lower price, then leave airport charges for you to pay on the day. We include everything in one pack.
